The Presage project
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Building Presage on MinGW/MSYS 
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The following steps will enable your system to build and execute
presage in native Win32 mode.

Install MinGW/MSYS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Download the current Automated MinGW installer and install the
following components:

MinGW Compiler Suite
    C Compiler
    C++ Compiler
MSYS Basic System

[Last tested with MinGW/MSYS 20110530]

Install Python
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Install using Python Windows Installer. No special notes here, just
click next.

Install wxPython
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Install using wxPython runtime installer matching the installed Python
version.  Just click next, and make sure that site-packages directory
the installer picks up is correct.

Install SWIG
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Install SWIG for Windows by simply unzipping it.

Install GTK
~~~~~~~~~~~

Install GTK for Windows by simply unzipping the all-in-one bundle.

Build SQLite3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Get the SQLite3 amalgamation source distribution and untar it.

Start the MSYS console and change into the SQLite3 source directory.

Configure, build, and install:
    ./configure --prefix=/mingw
    make
    make install

Build presage
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Start MSYS console

Extract and configure presage, taking care of specifying where to
find required binaries (Python and SWIG), headers, and libraries:

  PATH=/c/gtk/bin:/c/Python27:/c/SWIG:$PATH \
  CPPFLAGS="-I/c/Python27/include" \
  ./configure --prefix=/c/presage
